Understand both layers of protection.
HostIncharge provides in-house DDoS filtering, while customers retain important operating-system and application responsibilities.
Infrastructure protection
DDoS filtering is included at the HostIncharge infrastructure layer. Filtering reduces network attack exposure but cannot correct vulnerable applications, stolen credentials, unsafe firewall rules, or malicious content.
Customer security baseline
Keep software patched, restrict administrative access, protect secrets, remove unused services, and monitor authentication and application logs. Use unique credentials and multi-factor authentication wherever available.
Application-layer controls
Apply rate limits, secure session handling, input validation, dependency updates, and a web application firewall when the workload requires them. Separate administrative interfaces from public traffic.
Report suspicious activity
Send timestamps with time zone, affected service, source or destination details, and safe supporting evidence to support@hostincharge.com. Do not send credentials, private keys, or unnecessary personal data.
